AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Welcome to HypnotherapistRegister.com which is the largest register of Hypnotherapists in the U.K. and Ireland. The purpose of this web site is to promote Hypnotherapy and bring together Hypnotherapists and members of the public who are seeking their services. On this register, Hypnotherapists from all over the country are given a listing for their Hypnotherapy Practice, no matter what Hypnotherapy Association they belong to.
History HypnotherapistRegister.com was launched in May 2004 with about 1000 therapists listed. It was very well received, and within the first 6 months rapidly grew to almost 3000 entries. The register is still growing (August 2008 - Now 5000 members). HypnotherapistRegister.com was founded by myself, Cliff Cowin, aided and abetted by my wife Jan. We are both qualified Hypnotherapists and have been in full time practice since 1993.
Good for clients This web site provides, in simple format, unbiased information and choice to members of the public who are seeking a Hypnotherapist. Our aim is to give members of the public a far greater understanding about Hypnotherapy, Hypnotherapists and their qualifications. As a precaution, people who are seeking help are often advised to check the qualifications of any private health professional before they commit themselves to therapy with that person. We realise that selecting a private health professional can be quite a daunting task. Unfortunately the string of qualification letters after a therapist’s names mean nothing to most people, and checking those qualifications can be far from simple. This is probably the first time it has been made relatively easy for a member of the public to decipher the letters after a Hypnotherapists name, and track down their Professional Association. They can then contact the appropriate Association to check out the credentials of any Hypnotherapist they are considering going to see. We feel that this offers better protection than when somebody merely takes 'pot luck' and picks a Hypnotherapist out of the list in Yellow Pages or from a small ad in the local newspaper.
Good for Therapists The other purpose of HypnotherapistRegister.com is to give a free entry to all colleagues in the field of Hypnotherapy. Many people are very suspicious of anything that is free but I can assure you there is no catch. This really is a free service. I have been in full time practice as a Hypnotherapist since 1993 and my hobby is the computer. If I can bring both of these together and help my fellow colleagues and their prospective clients at the same time - better still ! I enjoy doing it; it’s as simple as that. Colleagues who apply to join the register are given access to the Members’ Area where there is a great deal of interesting information for Hypnotherapists. Most of the Hypnotherapists in the U.K. and Ireland, and most of the Professional Associations and Training Schools, are listed within the register. On request, we will gladly add any other names which may have been missed.
